About the Book

 

MATLAB  Programming for Engineering and Science is written with the intention to impart programming concept in MATLAB to the readers. Attempt has been made to make it version independent. The book has thoroughly explored the topics of different programming techniques and features including powerful object-oriented methodology of MATLAB programming. All the programming examples are oriented around the basic engineering and science problems of university syllabus. Readers with inadequate programming background can also use the book to design programming prototypes. Numerical methods and Digital Image Processing have also been discussed to give the reader a better understanding of MATLAB applications in science and engineering.

 

About the Authors

 

Dipankar Ray has done his PhD from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur and M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has more than fifteen years of working experience in programming in different programming languages. He has twenty-five research publications in reputed journals and conferences. He is working in MATLAB for the last ten years and has done extensive works on image processing, graphics, and numerical and statistical programming.

 

Dr. Sukhendu Dey is a reputed teacher having all India fame in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Prof. Dey has long and illustrious teaching experience at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. After retirement from the service at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad in 2003, Prof Dey worked as Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and M.C.A at Academy of Technology, Adisaptagram, Hoogly,WB and worked as Director in Bengal Institute of Technology and Management, Santiniketan, WB. Recently he has joined Supreme Knowledge Group of Institute as a Professor and HOD in Engineering Sciences. Professor Dey is an internationally known research worker in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Seismology. He has guided 24 research scholars for Ph.D degree and has more than 150 publications in international journals of repute. Prof Dey has also authored: Computer Knowledge in C. Narosha publishing house, New Delhi. Graph Theory with application. Shroff publication and distribution, Mumbai. Essential Numerical Methods with C programming. Tata Macgraw Hill, New Delhi.
