The 7-Segment daughterboard module provides four digits of yellow LED display, including some alphabetic and punctuation capability. This master 7Seg-DB module plugs directly into the 2×6 connector found on the MoBoStamp-pe, the Propeller Backpack, the Spinneret Web Server, and the DB-Expander. Once this Master Unit is installed, you can add up to seven of the 7Seg-DB Slave Units, daisy-chain style, for a total of 32 contiguously-displayed digits.

With the downloadable AVR driver firmware, any program written for the above Parallax motherboards gains high-level control over the functions of the 7-Segment DB, without having to worry about display refresh, segment encoding, and the like. Writing to the display is as easy as sending it a string. In addition, you also have several special effects at your disposal, including dimming, vertical and horizontal scrolling, fixed-width numerical fields with leading zero suppression, and selectable display windows.

When combined with the aluminum MoBo Extrusion and Panel Set, designed especially for the MoBoStamp-pe and its daughterboards, it will be easy to produce a finished-looking controller and display device that you can be proud of.
